Success Profiles

Understand how a vacancy may assess experience, behaviours and other relevant skills.

How assessment works

Some Civil Service competitions use Success Profiles, which can consider experience, behaviours, strengths, ability and technical skills. Not every competition uses every element.

The recruiting organisation must explain which criteria and assessment methods apply to the particular vacancy. Do not prepare for assessments that have not been specified.

Preparing evidence

Read each essential requirement and select a relevant example from work, education, volunteering or another activity. Explain your personal contribution and the result.

Selection stages

Further assessment may include an interview, presentation or work-related exercise, where stated by the recruiting organisation.
